Chris Jarrett Appointed Senior Coach

The Devon Meadows Cricket Club has appointed Chris Jarrett as its senior coach for the 2026/27 Season.
Chris brings over 20 years of senior coaching experience with success across three competitions.
"I am genuinely excited about the opportunity to step into the coaching role at Devon Meadows Cricket Club,” he said.
“What stood out to me was the club’s clear vision and direction. It is grounded, achievable and backed by a group of people who are committed to building something sustainable and successful.”
Chris’s playing career included stints with DDCA Turf 1 clubs Buckley Ridges and Narre Warren, and would later lead the Magpies their only Turf 1 finals appearance.
A move to Casey South Melbourne further developed his coaching craft, before taking on roles at Cranbourne - where he was part of a Turf 1 premiership - and assumed the senior coaching role.
His coaching journey would take him to Lynbrook, Dingley, Upper Ferntree Gully and most recently Clyde, before accepting the role at Glover Reserve.
“This is a club with a fantastic foundation, built on a committed senior group and an exciting group of juniors who are already pushing into first XI cricket creating real depth across the club,” he continued.
“My focus is simple - to create an environment where people love turning up to train, enjoy their cricket on game day, and feel part of a strong, team and club focused environment.
“Most importantly, it’s about building a great club dynamic. One that embraces every opportunity to improve, compete and move forward together. There is a genuine opportunity here to take the next steps as a club and I am excited to be part of that journey.”
Devon Meadows President Corey Leslie said the club was delighted to secure Chris as senior coach for the 2026/27 season, saying his vast experience and intimate knowledge of the Casey Cardinia Cricket Association Premier Division would be invaluable in developing the club’s young list.
“The club has had a firm focus on developing juniors in recent seasons, and Chris’s coaching experience across the DDCA, Premier Cricket and most recently, the CCCA, will be of great benefit as we aim to move up the Premier Division table.
“We’re really excited to welcome Chris to the club, and we’re looking forward to building towards the new season.”
In further good news, Country Week representatives Lucas Ligt and Ben Marsh, former first XI captains Chris Cleef and Lucas Carroll, and vice-captain Nathan Worsteling have all recommitted for season 2026/27, and will be joined by former junior Will Halton who returns to Glover Reserve after a two-year stint at Casey South Melbourne.
